Wada, in particular, is almost entirely residential and sits some distance from the station. This is a neighborhood defined by everyday life: long-established local shops and small, independently run stores scattered along its streets.
At DOMANIKA, take a moment to glimpse Tokyo as it is lived—unhurried, familiar, and quietly authentic.


DOMANIKA is a shop run by MANIKA FACTORY, a brand rooted primarily in apparel.
The story began with original camping gear, but the brand’s activities have since grown far beyond that. Today, as stated on their official website, they “sew clothing, create original textiles, and remake or print on much-loved vintage garments.”
It’s a place where hands-on craftsmanship and a deep affection for materials come together—quietly expressive, and unmistakably their own.




Everyday wear with a subtle alternative edge—both clothing and lifestyle goods. In Wada, it’s not uncommon to spot locals wearing pieces from this shop.
“Oh, that’s from manika, right?”
“Yeah, it is.”
Snippets of conversation like this drift casually through the neighborhood. It’s a charming scene—and perhaps something you don’t encounter very often in other parts of Tokyo.

A perfect Tokyo—and Suginami—souvenir is DOMANIKA’s “SUGI-NAM” series, one of the brand’s standout hits.
The design features a map of Suginami Ward, complete with the names of its neighborhoods carefully labeled. Part of its appeal may lie in the playful twist on the name itself: Suginami rendered as “SUGI-NAM.” And then there’s the bold declaration—“a damn great ward.”
Inspired by a truly great part of the city, this is a truly great wardrobe to take home as a Tokyo souvenir.

Profile:
Yohei Endo is a graphic designer based in Tokyo, also known as the creative director of “Tabi Douguyaya” MANIKA. As a silkscreen artist, he is highly regarded for his work that blends art and design using the silkscreen technique on a variety of materials. His creations are simple yet impactful, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.
At MANIKA, he oversees the visual direction for products and exhibitions, shaping the brand’s creative philosophy. In his silkscreen art, Yohei Endo prints unique designs onto clothing, accessories, and interior items, infusing everyday objects with artistic expression and new life.
…So much has been written, but our own impression—formed simply by watching the people who come and go from this café-bar—is this:
“That laid-back local guy who lives freely and looks effortlessly cool.”
That image is, quite literally, embodied by the master of DOMANIKA’s café-bar—perhaps best described as the owner of a thoroughly modern izakaya. His personality defines the place. Drawn by his character, a steady stream of customers stops by.
Most of them sip coffee or enjoy a drink—while casually shopping for clothes at the same time.








En-chan’s recommended art, books, toys, etc. are lined up in the cafe/bar space. In other words, it’s En-chan’s room.
カフェ/バースペースには、エンちゃんオススメのアート、蔵書、玩具などが並ぶ。つまり、エンちゃんの部屋になっている。


The menu is hung on the wall like an izakaya or a restaurant. En-chan can also drink sake obtained from various lands.
まるで居酒屋や料理屋のように、壁にメニューが掲げられている。エンちゃんが、様々な土地から入手した酒も呑める。「燃え上がれ!バーニングソーセージ(ツマミ)」がどうしても気になる。


There are also a few knims, so ask for recommendations at that time. Barning sausage is a must.
ちょっとしたツマミもあるので、その時々のオススメを聞いてみて。バーニンソーセージはマスト。


You come to buy clothes—and somehow, the designer ends up pouring you sake from a tokkuri.
It feels oddly normal, yet completely unexpected. This is the kind of everyday magic you’ll find here.Even if there are regulars chatting inside, don’t hesitate to step in. That’s the unspoken rule.


In Tokyo, you’ll often find clothing stores with a small counter serving coffee or beer—but a place that takes both fashion and café/bar culture this seriously is rare. And in an apparel shop, sake served in a traditional tokkuri with ochoko cups? Almost unheard of.
This is a uniquely Tokyo kind of everyday life—unexpected, unpretentious, and absolutely worth experiencing.
服を買う。酒やコーヒーを飲む。この2つの日常が一つのコンパクトなショップで楽しめるのは素敵。店の一角のカウンターでコーヒーやビールを…というスタイルは多いのだが、これだけ両方のコンテンツに本気のカフェ/バー運営はなかなかに無い。服を買ったその場で徳利にお猪口で呑む・・・は、まずあり得ない。そんな、珍しい東京の日常も楽しもう。
